Terms of Use
Updated 21 September 2026
About Narly
Narly is a free macOS app created and independently maintained by Andreas Villumsen (“the developer”) as a personal project. These terms cover the app and narlymac.app.
Narly helps you choose which installed browser or app opens a link or supported local web file. There is no subscription or payment obligation.
Your permission to use Narly
You may install and use Narly for personal or work purposes on Macs you own or are authorised to use. This permission is non-exclusive and does not transfer ownership of the app or its original artwork to you.
Use Narly lawfully and respect other people’s rights. Permission to modify or redistribute its code depends on applicable law or a separate software licence expressly provided with that code. These terms do not restrict rights granted by such a licence or by mandatory law.
Other apps and third-party materials
Narly depends on the browsers and apps you choose. Their functionality, availability and supported link formats may change. Their own terms apply to their services.
Third-party app names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in Narly identifies supported destinations and does not imply affiliation or endorsement. Third-party software and other materials remain subject to their own licences and notices.
Narly does not verify that a link or its destination is safe, accurate or lawful. You choose which links to open and where to open them.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Narly and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
The developer does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every system or future third-party update, or suitability for a particular purpose. This does not exclude any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Responsibility and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you use Narly and the website at your own risk. Keep appropriate backups and take care when opening links containing confidential information.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities or anticipated savings arising from use of, or inability to use, Narly or the website.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer rights and rights under data protection law remain unaffected. Any liability not validly excluded is governed by applicable law.
Updates and availability
Narly is an independently maintained project. The developer may change it, stop development, or stop offering future downloads or voluntary support. No particular support or maintenance period is promised.
The current app does not install updates automatically. Any mandatory obligations concerning updates or remedies remain unaffected. Stopping future distribution does not itself revoke your permission to use a version you already obtained.
You can stop using Narly and uninstall it at any time. Local preferences and diagnostic files may remain, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms will carry a new date, and material changes will be highlighted before they apply. Where acceptance is legally required, it will be requested.
